Gracie’s Nursery Tour

Today I’m so excited to share our little Gracie’s nursery tour! When we found out we were having a girl, I could not wait to start planning her nursery. We transformed this small room into a cozy, boho-inspired, functional space where she could sleep, nurse, play and get dressed. Neutral tones mixed with blush, rust, warm wood and layered textures were what I kept gravitating toward.

This room used to be my “cloffice” so we still kept the IKEA pax wardrobe system from that, which now serves as maximum storage for all of her clothes, diapers, wipes, blankets, toys and more. Many people ask how we mange to live in a condo with a baby and a dog and my answer is store seasonal and keep the rest minimal! We don’t have a lot of “stuff” and I wanted to approach this with our baby as well. Creative storage solutions are also your best friend so I am sharing more of that below in this post!

This corner is my favourite because it’s one we use the most right now! I nurse her at every feed in this beautiful Monte Design rocking chair. I selected the faux sheepskin Joya Rocker with a maple base that fit the cozy, boho vibe we were going for in the nursery. When looking for a chair I wanted something aesthetically pleasing that was also an ergonomic chair that would be comfortable while nursing Grace. This checked off both for me! It’s made so beautifully in Canada and such a quality piece. It came with this comfy lumbar pillow (I chose the blush velvet which matched her room’s colour palette perfectly). We also got the Joya ottoman which doubles as a stool to sit on or a comfy place to kick my feet up while rocking and nursing Grace.

Above is her gallery wall that I carefully selected meaningful, whimsical pieces she could look up at and feel happy, inspired and joyful whenever she is nursing, waking up from a nap or playing in here as she grows. I bought this leather sign piece last year in June (and then our miracle came this June, how funny) as we were trying to conceive after our miscarriage to remind us to have hope that miracles happen everyday. Now it hangs on the wall of our miracle baby’s nursery! It’s so special. I also added these beautiful religious art pieces by Celeste Clark, a custom wooden name disc from Aspen+Company, a custom illustration of our dog Lucy from Shannon Kirsten and a new “wildflower” print I designed for my shop, For Such A Time Shop.

“Our chair,” where the world gets quiet and it’s just us two. Nursing hasn’t always been an easy journey, but it got better and I am so grateful for this time with my girl. I nurse her in this chair at every feed…

For shelf styling, I didn’t want to overcrowd with toys or “things” and instead have pieces that were sweet but functional! I love using cute baskets for storage, stacking books together and wooden toys she will use one day, like puzzles and stackers, that also double as nice decor.

Her sneaker game is all ready to go thanks to Daddy Jollz!

Closet storage and organization for baby girl was one of my favourite things I worked on while I was pregnant! I already had this IKEA pax wardrobe system in here for my clothes (which I removed and put into another closet for myself and the rest of my seasonal stuff in storage). I got some drawer organizers (similar here) to divide everything into onesies, sleepers, pants etc. as well as by age. I also love these honeycomb drawer organizers I use for her socks and mittens! The rest of her clothes I hang on the two racks above with these velvet hangers I got off Amazon.

We use the other drawer spaces for storage for items like diapers, wipes, medical/grooming items and more that we want quick access to. I personally LOVE this baby nail file and we use it each week to keep her nails filed down nicely. Way less stressful than using clippers!

Even though Grace sleeps in our room in a bassinet right now (you can see our bedroom set up for her here), in a few months we will be transitioning her to this crib. My sister kindly let me borrow her old Restoration Hardware crib that’s beautiful (I found a dupe at Target, linked here). Neal painted this arch wall (with behr paint’s “sedona pink”) while I was pregnant as an “accent” since the walls are white in her room (which we like to keep the space big and open). It adds a little pop of colour and we wanted to also hang this “amazing grace” sign we had custom made by Timberwood Designs (love that they’re a Canadian small business) somewhere and this ended up being the perfect spot! The rainbow mobile was made by this local company called Woolly Dreams (the quality is incredible) as a tribute to her being our rainbow baby. You’ll notice lots of rainbows around her nursery for this reason! I found this reading nook tent on H&M Home and had my mom cut out the base and hem the bottom to make it open like a canopy so we could hang it above the crib that makes it feel really cozy and majestic!

We got Gracie’s bookshelves from IKEA (so many great nursery finds there) and dressed it up with books we’ve collected over the years for her that are special, sweet Jellycat stuffy toys (I’m obsessed with these) and this tassel garland (similar here). The sweet little rattan stroller is from a local shop here called Petit Nordique Boutique that I love so so much! We use it to store some more toys (as you can see below) and I know she will love pushing this around once she’s walking.
