I remember the summer leading up to my freshman year of college, I created a mood board for my first dorm room. Granted, it was way more low tech than my mood boards are now, but I. was. into. it! Am I the only one who did that?
One year in particular, I did a black, white, and red theme with black and white prints of Paris (ripped out of an old calendar) all over my walls, a plastic beaded chandelier, a zebra print rug, and I thought it was SO tres chic. (I kick myself all the time for never taking a picture of that gloriousness.)
So in honor of back-to-school this year, I thought it would be so fun to go back to my roots and celebrate another Mood Board Monday with some dorm room ideas!
I pulled together a bunch of bedding, bath, furniture, and decor items from Walmart Home that are perfect for dorm rooms. Starting in stores and online, Walmart now has a section called “Wow & Now” with inexpensive trending home items. Right now, so many of the cute items in the “Wow & Now” section are perfect for dorm rooms and kids’ rooms.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so giddy about making mood boards because these took me right back to that rising freshman summer when I was anxious and excited just stepping into my college years. That feeling of creating a home away from home was so comforting to me when I moved out of my parents’ house. (Homebody problems.)
